Meeting in the Mundane

Most days I forget that I encounter God in quite literally everything I do. The water I sip from my Owala, the gloomy skies I admire, the chill of the breeze, the greek yogurt I eat– all the steps in my monotonous routine–even there I encounter Him.

You don’t have to wait to meet with Him until your early morning devotions, when your coffee is made just right.

You don’t have to wait to meet with Him until it’s a Wednesday night and you’re worshipping with hundreds of other believers.

You don’t have to wait to meet with Him until it pains you to breath and you can’t sleep.

He asks to meet with us right now. He invites us to draw near to Him, in every moment, in every second. Stop ignoring God–stop waiting for these “divine encounters” when any encounter we have with Him is divine.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8
